I work with Diana because she brings so much experience with her, that I can back right off and get on with other work knowing that whatever she is working on is in safe hands. Every year, IGT is expected to dominate the show and bring some surprises at the Australian Gaming Expo. This year was a huge success and Diana was responsible for managing the event as well as bringing an amazing calm to everybody. She managed the show as a favour to me and for somebody who professes to hate managing events, she is very good at them.

Ghost Fever grips AGE in Sydney!

I rarely manage events these days, but I agreed to manage the development of IGT’s stand for the 2013 Australian Gaming Expo, for a much valued client who lost his event manager a few weeks before the event planning started.

IGT always puts on an impressive stand (36 X 24 Metres) with the best free bar at the show. And every year they outdo the previous year with a bigger and better stand, giveaways and surprise entertainment.

In 2013, the reveal of the Ghostbusters game stole the whole show for IGT. The original ECTO-1 car was shipped to Sydney in great secrecy (on loan from Sony, it is the first time the car has left the US) and concealed on the stand with a NY skyline, curtain, and a giant (8m x 3m) curved LED screen in front. Three times a day the screen lifted to reveal the Ecto-1 Car and a freestyle Ghostbusters dance crew which drew crowds of up to 200 people with its excitement and energy, making the IGT stand the centre of the show.

IGT had at least 15% extra foot traffic this year as compared to last year and people stayed around the stand longer, often waiting for the next Ghostbuster car show and looking at all the games.

Managing the event was a crazy few weeks, but my initial reluctance to take up the job was repaid by the smooth running of the event and the huge success over the three days.
